🌱 Marchers Demand Gun Reforms + Cinci Rent Rose 4th Fastest In Nation

Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:

  1. The Cincinnati March for Our Lives event taking place today, Jun. 11, at City Hall will demand gun law reforms like background checks for gun sales, “red flag” laws, and safe storage provisions. Organizer for the Cincinnati Federation of Teachers, Michelle Dillingham, said there is a unified call for reforms to address gun violence. Marches will also be held in Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, and Toledo. (Cincinnati CityBeat)
  2. Local rentals in the Greater Cincinnati area increased at the fourth-fastest rate in the country over the last year, according to data from Redfin. Additionally, tri-state rents increased 32 percent in the year preceding May 2022. Austin saw the fastest-rising rents in the last year with an increase of 48 percent. (FOX19)
  3. Rodolfo Molina-Hernandez, the suspect involved in the shooting involving an officer last Friday, was arrested yesterday, Jun. 10, and charged with aggravated menacing, a felony in the fifth degree. Molina-Hernandez was arrested after he was released from the hospital. The Fairfield Municipal Court also served Molina-Hernandez with an outstanding contempt of court warrant. (WLWT 5 News)

  • Altafiber is holding an electronic waste recycling event through Sunday. The company’s six stores in greater Cincinnati will collect any old or broken electronics, including phones, laptops, cameras, cords, headphones, and tablets.   • Showers and storms are possible this weekend, but the National Weather Service is warning of heat index values of around 100 on Tuesday and Wednesday. The areas expected to be impacted are East Central and Southeast Indiana; Central, South Central, Southwest and West Central Ohio and Northeast and Northern Kentucky. (The Cincinnati Enquirer)
