Thiruvananthapuram: An electric car designed by a group of engineering students from Government Engineering College Barton Hill, has reached the final stage of the International Energy Efficiency Competition, Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) 2022. The car rolled out with the mentorship of Acsia Technologies is also supported by the state government’s Additional Skill Acquisition Programme. Dr. Anish K. John, Faculty Advisor of team Pravega guided the project.
‘Vandy’, the electric car designed by Pravega, a team of 19 students from the mechanical stream of the college is one among the five teams that qualified for the national level of the event. The event will be held at Pertamina Mandalika circuit in Indonesia.
“Vandy’ is designed with the objective of making less carbon footprint with optimum aerodynamics and minimum weight. Acsia being a technology leader in the e-mobility space, has helped us define our electronic and software design and strategy better.” says Kalyani S. Kumar, Team Leader, Pravega.
